Located on the Souhegan river in the center of southern New Hampshire, about 1 hour from Boston, 1 hour from the New Hampshire seacoast and 2 hours from the scenic White Mountains, Milford is the economic, retail and manufacturing center of the Souhegan alley. Milford has population of approximately 15,000 of which approximately 9,000 live in the downtown area. Life in Milford centers on the “Oval”, the traffic circle cum town square at the center of town. Ringed by restaurants, retail, several houses of worship and a small riverside park, Milford’s best known tradition is its Fall Pumpkin Festival which annually attracts upwards of 35,000 people to the Oval.
